Department of Posts, India has been catering to the needs of the public of Dimapur district through its various functions in mails, insurance and banking sector. The operation of the department covers all areas of the Dimapur district even to the most remote area through its branch offices (BOs) located even in the rural areas. At present, there are eight full fledged Post Offices in the district which includes Dimapur Mukhya Dak Ghar (MDG) and seven Sub Offices (SOs). Dimapur MDG is headed by a Postmaster while the other SOs are managed by Sub-Postmasters (SPM) and BOs are run by Branch Postmasters (BPMs).
