District Commandant Office

1. About the department: 

                       The role and function of the office of District Commandant Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF Dimapur is to assist and augment the civil police Administration in maintenance of law and order, regulation of traffic and provide Security in state and central establishments. Home guard personnel are also requisitioned for duty during the conduct of parliamentary, State Assembly and urban Local Bodies Election.

                      The office of District Commandant Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF Dimapur liaisons with District Administration through District Disaster Management Authority by conducting Search and Rescue operations and also plays an active role by organising sensitization and awareness programs in school and villages in collaboration with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority/ District Disaster Management Authority. Currently, the SDRF Dimapur operates in dimapur, Chumoukedima and nuiland Districts. Peren district Disaster Management Authority may also requisition SDRF dimapur unit due to its close proximity.
